My buddy and I headed back out to the union encampment entrenchment hill today that we've been detecting since last month, I pulled 1 dropped .54 caliber, 3 dropped .44 caliber bullets and another union general service eagle cuff button-that makes 4 Eagle general service cuff buttons, and one kepi eagle hat button that I have pulled since last Friday, and a total over 50 dropped .54s/.44s an 1862 Inidan head, one .52 caliber sharp's with brass shell casing still fully intact, and two shoulder rifle buckles stamped: PATENT 1862, & 1865 that have been dug since last month here in N. Virginia. Detectorists' have been pounding this site for the past 30 years and we would swear by our finds that this place is virgin territory!
It all goes to show, no area is 100% hunted out, if you take your time, go slowly and really listen to what your detector is telling you, you will make good recoveries. Keep the coil to the soil fellow the'rs!
