bullet

wad cutter what is the diameter and weight? If it is .452 in diameter and about 300 or 405 gr it would be a lc45 or 45/70 if is .359 and about 168 gr it may be a 38.

It's a fairly new design, two grease groove, semi-wadcutter. Measuring the diameter will give you the caliber as already mentioned. 0.357 will be 38 caliber, like already mentioned 0.452 will be a 45 caliber. Or it's some other caliber. Either way it is good for remelting and making into another bullet or a fishing weight. Sorry, it's not what you wanted to hear I bet. It can be either a home made cast bullet or commercial cast, no way to tell the date. Could have been made several months ago or 50 or more years. Given the condition of the lube on it I would not say much more than a few years at best. And yes, I cast my own bullets.
