Bullet Day at Horseshoe Bay

Got out to Horseshoe Bay for the low tide at 6:30 am. Not a soul around but a beautiful sunrise, wouldn't you know that I would forget my submersible camera.
I fired up the Excal and gave it a quick once over to make sure everything was in order as I always do and what do I find but a big crack in the reconditioned battery pod that I put a new NiMh pack into. No deep water for this pirate today.
I had to stick to the knee deep water and as the surf began to pick up I had to work the wet sand to avoid having my battery pod splashed. What a difference in the quality of the finds from shallow to deeper water. 32 bullets plus a 5 bullet clip still intact, a couple bucks in clad and some old copper tags. The only kewl find this morning was the old axe head and I will have to clean that up before I know if it's a keeper.
