Built in speaker volume very low?

Hi guys and gals
Is the built in speaker on the back of the display of the detector really that quiet? Compared to the e trac it's a whisper, . it appears my volume limits are maxed out at 30....

Did you set the Volume level with the headphones or wireless module connected? The reason I ask is because the CTX 3030 has one place to set the Volume level, but it has the ability to recognize what is connected at that time. If nothing else is connceted, it sets the volume level for the built in speaker. If the headphones are plugged in, it sets the volume for the headphones. If the wireless mod is connected, it sets the volume for the wireless mod speaker. If there are headphones plugged into the wireless mod, it sets the volume level for the headphones plugged into the wireless mod. HH Randy

Gary mine isnt that quiet at all. Make sure everything is at max levels. When I was air testing at my house, the detector was super loud

Hi Digger
only the battery is connected to the detector volume limit is at 30 threshold level is at 40 volume gain at 23 and still I can barely hear it
as always your support is greatly appreciated

Thanks jim yeah I am confused right now what's going on

One more option is to set the speaker volume in the Universal Settings page in Xchange2......... drag and drop to the CTX file and done. All programs will have your personal settings for Speaker, Headphones, Volume, Gain, Threshold, Sensitivity, Backlight, Options and much more. Bravo Minelab........:clapping:

Universal Settings is very handy.

Even with the wireless disabled via the menu on the detector and volume limit at 30 it's still very very quiet

It is possible that it could be a defective speaker, I would call your dealer for your options.......

Try removing the headphone module... maybe a short in there causing low volume to the main speaker.

tried it all... Think I have me a bum speaker . :(

Gary, try these two things...with the detector on pull out the batteries. See if that works. Also do a complete reset of the CTX. If those dont work then call Ron. If you want to meet later today and compare settings I am free

It's dead jim. But thankfully I still have the headphones which I'll use 99.99 percent of the time anyhow,

I think you have a bum unit. My dealer; Wayne at Metal Detecting Stuff received his shipment of the 3030's so me and my hunting buddy went to pick ours up. One of the three 3030's being assembled by our dealer had a very low volume on boot up. We opened the last 3030 he had and the volume was good just like the other three 3030's. Later our dealer told us that Minelab told him to send the low volume detector back and that a replacement would be sent. This is what is great about buying from a dealer in person. The low volume detector was easily identified and replaced before walking out the door.

Well that stinks. I just don't wanna lose any hunting times and I just put my darn expensive screen cover on the machine

I will call the dealer and Minelab tomorrow to see what we can do.
Thanks everyone...

Thus far all my headphones issues have been solved with a factory reboot. Just a heads up!

Thanks Buried... Tried it, but no such luck... I am hoping I don't have to be detectorless while a repair is done.
