Several times in Analysis Mode I got one thin vertical bar in the screen center ( mix of three humps ) instead of 3 camel humps in 3 freq mode. And I get it continuously during other searches. Because it is quite enough for me to analise in Pin Point, I decided to unselect Match Search in Expert menu to get Ground Filter, Recovery Delay and SAT settings for the Analysis mode ( toggle forward away from grip ) instead of the humps BUT... nothing changed.

Who else have seen this vertical mix and tried to change the setting?

I get the bar just about everytime I analyze. It usually takes about three times until I get a proper analyze, whether it be humps or something else. Haven't bothered trying to change it.

When you push the switch forward, are you waiting for a second to hear the threshold tone re-establish? If you swing too quick it wont lock on properly. At least, that's my experience.

Thanks for input, clarified... What about changing Match Search?

Skif, I think you are either confused about what "match search" means or I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to convey. Match Search means just that, it matches the settings of the search mode as far as Ground filter, recovery delay and SAT go. If you want to change any or all of those specific settings, you must then unselect match search and put your own settings in. I agree with jimmyk here...wait for the threshold to establish itself and then be sure to do a SINGLE pass over the target at a uniform speed. Keep in mind too that even if you continue to get a straight bar over a specific target, that almost always indicates a "junk target". Lastly, if you tend to do your analyze sweep slower thsn your normal sweep, it may be a good idea to change the ground filter setting of the analize mode down to 5 Khz.

It seems to help if you make sure that the coil FLAT or level with the ground. I get either something like the two sides of a box or a flat line many times but after a few tries I can usually get decent humps, sometimes it takes several sweeps. Sometimes once I get the humps they are off to the side and I only see half of the wave... but keep trying, it will get there eventually.

I think you are right though, uniformity in swing and coil control helps.
