Bugs are bad, so I hit the beach

I have found a couple awesome areas to hunt, however the mosquitoes are bad right now, so I have been hitting the beach.

I went out before low tide and followed the tide out. I found several items and decided to head back to the car to get the Excal out to get in the water. When I got back to the car I decided to get something to eat, just up the road. I took off my find pouch, which I keep a key in the hidden pocket, and threw it in the back of the van. Without thinking I closed the back and now I have locked my keys in the van.

Fortunately I had my cell phone and called the wife. "Hey honey, hit the remote on your key chain to unlock the van", it has worked in the past, no problem. Except for today  Well I guess I will walk around and check out the beach. I saw someone else metal detecting and stopped by for a moment to talk to him. He has a condo and comes up once a month to stay and he metal detects a couple days.I walked around and checked out some of the local shops and then went to McDonalds to wait for my wife. Two hours later my wife showed up with her friend (my wife doesn't drive) and unlocked the van for me

The tide was coming in and it is now the middle of the day and very hot, so I decided to hit the road and call it a day.

It was still a good day.... Anytime you can get out and metal detect :detecting: a bit, it is a good day.

The ring was tarnished, top picture. I cleaned it, next picture.

My folks do that with the Listerine, it does work. However in this area I think you could use 5 gallons of it and it would not make a difference. I had netting on and DEET and they engulfed me. I will wait until the Fall... Plus the underbrush will not be heavy in the fall.

I am glad to see you made it back from the beach. Looks like you had another great day. Nice ring!

I wonder if the phone type has something to do with it, along with the remote type. I did it on my Dodge Van while I was in Korea and it worked no problem.
