Have I discovered a bug in V4.0? Try this and let me know if you get the same results. On any of the program screens go to: MENU - DISC - EXPERT- EXPERT. Now tell me if you can get out of this screen without turning the remote off; I can't. Also, you can see the clock faintly flashing in the upper right hand corner.
Thanks for checking. I'll have to do some research and try to figure out what is going on. I notice that when I go to the http://www.xpmetaldetectors.com/metal-detector/deus-update/ and download the update and go to install it. It shows: C:\Program Files (x86)\DEUS UPDATE BETA then DEUS UPDATE BETA. When I do the update, it just says 4.0. When I did the first update prior to the -6.4 discrimination fix, I didn't test the update screen so I don't know when the problem cropped up. The update ran flawless the first time. This time one of my coils was not found. I've got it on charge and will try the update again later. Hopefully it's just a minor glitch. I just don't understand why it says BETA.
I have the same problem. I even went back to V3.2 and everything works as it should. I downloaded v4.0 again and reinstalled it and the same thing happens. I think I'll go back to v3.2 until they get the bugs worked out at least I know that works. I'll keep watching here and see if anyone finds an answer.
Me too. Same problems. I was wondering if I was the only one, just signed up and posted my problem before seeing this thread. I just received my Deus, brand new. Hopefully this is common and will be addressed quickly.
Not sure if this has any connections but I loaded 4.0 early off the UK Deus site. Before they found the -6.5 as mine shows 6.5 on the disc. But I left it as I figured I would never run it as -6.5 anyways. Now, I've also not been able to get out and hunt but have been doin a lot of in house testing and haven't seen any issues. Dunno
I'm betting that mine also worked correctly until I updated after the 6.4 Disc fix. If so, I sure wish I had left it alone. I can't update any of my expert settings now.
I found the V4.019 Beta version and updated to it and everything works great. This more than proves to me that it's a bug. I noticed that the -6.4 discrimination shows up as 6.4 though. Something is definitely not working correctly somewhere. How did the Beta version even get out there anyway?
Can some of you tell me if the version you are using that works correctly has the Desc setting on Program 9 to 6.4 or -6.4? I've got a theory that they broke something fixing this setting on Program 9. It will be interesting to see if the detectors with the (-6.4) setting are the ones with the problems. Lets help get this fixed if it truly is a problem.
Okay few question for those of you having problems.
Did you un-install your XP Deus Update before installing the new one?
Had you been part of the group that had installed the beta that was released to the public when it wasn't suppose to be?
When you went through the update did all of the components update and did it finish saying it was successful?

We have changed to V4 without issue and have sent out machines with the upgrade.
I had problems and I pulled the update from the site you gave. I had conflicts with my security software at first but managed a download. I never had the beta version. I installed V4, saw the problem and installed it again. Both times the install completed fine but I still had the bug. Went back to 3.2 from the same download and the problem was gone.
I did some playing around i went from 4.0 to download it again and I had three freezing issue as listed above. The. Downloaded 4.019 beta and no issues?
My Deus is brand new, just received it, and this update to 4.0 was my first. Never downloaded previous updates. The update seems to install without problems. I tried downloading from the main site too, installed it, same problem. Now I'm back to 3.2 for the fourth time. I'm beginning to fear further attempts as I'm reading some coils are being rendered useless after this update. I
Yup same here. Expert menus in Freq. Shift and in Notch cause a remote freeze in V 4.0. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling software from Deus site and it still occurs. I will downgrade versions until it gets straightened out. What a bummer.
But of course it wan't stay at -6.4 once it is turned off as it is a factory program so if you want to use it that way you have to turn it down every time. i also noticed in program 9 that it is in full tones and not 5 tones like the chart says.
