Buffalo Nickels

Years ago my uncle gave his son a pint jar full of Buffalo Nickels .He buried these Buffalo Nickels ,and is not sure of the dept or sight .How deep would my Tesoro Vaquero detect .?

At least a foot or more depending on ground conditions.. the detector regardless of make would probably pick up the lid of the jar, not the coins so hopefully it is a non-ferrous lid like the zinc ones on the old mason jars and not the cheaper tin type that rusts out quickly.

Most caches are claimed to be buried around elbow deep which I cannot confirm as I have never dug one.. hopefully if he was a young lad at the time he buried it shallow.

Super tune that V, keep the disc at the iron mark and go for it!
Good luck!
