Buffalo nickel in a field

BLRRLB

New member
GTP 1350 strikes a buffalo nickel in a fresh plowed field right beside my house. i was running in jewelry mode and it was bouncing from pull tab to nickel, bjt when it ID as nickel it was a very clear sound. date was worn off, it's silver..right?

Update: old rusty nail 1/2in above the nickel in the same hole..explains the jumping signal!! That's what the pros here at the forum mean when they say LISTEN to the tone instead of relying on just the ID..

[size=large]the 1943 thru 1945 nickels were made with silver ( war nickels ). all others were made of nickel. the buffalo nickel was last made in 1938.
