Buff n more

Went out for a couple hours yesterday, pulled a really nice dropped .44 colt army revolver round, one of my favorite types of bullets. Then I popped a Buffalo from the 20's, can't see the last digit in the date. Got a decent little silver ring to end the hunt. Sorry if the pictures have sucked lately, still using my phone to get online. HH!!

a good day indeed! recovering from the knife so weeks out to dig. like seeing you guys finding something, keeps me going. you like your unit? i have the 505 with the 8 in to try, reading up on it.i am not used to meters and tones so this will be a challenge. do you use a buff to set your disc or anything?

Yeah, i love my machine, if it went a couple inches deeper I'd probably never consider upgrading. Had an Xterra 70 for a while, but i couldn't stand it. I don't use anything to tune my disc. I use the recommended disc for coin shooting, and I usually turn it down a bit if I'm relic hunting. My disc works awesome with iron, but everything else I have to eliminate based on tone quality. Seems the disc works on air tests way better than in the ground. I dig mostly any repeatable signal, I found a lot of my best finds on iffy signals...gold is always an iffy signal for me. Hope you mend quickly so you can get back into the 'swing' of things.

the guy that sold me a unit 12 yrs ago threw down coins, nickles, and used them to set disc. he would just make sure he had the nickle. i still do that out of habit, and i find a lot of nickles. i plan on the BH505 with the 8in to try a test and see just what the factory does, and what it actually does. i read they are most accurate and seemed to be on a quick air test. i have heard they are really bang for the buck. best sleeper on market, just stay outta wet salt. i have asked around before without answer. radioshack/Bh/discovery--one had a salt mode button. it is shaped bodywise as the 505. i saw one at a pawn and went back, it was gone. i dont think i was seeing things. would love to find one with the salt mode. i checked the manual cross sites, know i saw it. any ideas? its gonna drive me nuts till i find it. see doctor tommorrow but know weeks out to hunt. tumor believed benign but nice cut! 100 degree heat no rain, gonna seperate the md'ers from the boys soon i hope. thanks carey

I've heard nothing but good things bout the 505, I'm sure you'll like it, can't give you any help with salt mode option, don't have to worry bout that in my area. Been in the mid 90's here, ground is really starting to dry up. Went out for a couple this morn before work, not much to speak of other than this really old broach that is pretty sweet, a lot of fine details in it, hand crafted, I'm sure this picture isn't doing it justice. Hope some rain comes along soon.
