Hit a few parks today, dug 37 coins, a buffalo nickel, car, and a huge knock out blank that I thought was a half.

I was detecting around the swings and got this 1935 buff. The park is hammered by all here so I knew it was a freak find. I looked and saw that the top layer was a different color than the sand.

You can see the dark brown fill dirt in the pic. I had noticed it when I first arrived but it didn't register. Man, I have to become more aware of my surroundings. I am going by the park this afternoon and will ask the park workers where the dirt came from. Probably they wont know - just say the city brought it in. But one never knows - have to try all angles in this hobby.
