Buff...a rare find for me...

REVIER

Well-known member
Only my second buff but found in an area where I never found old coins in the past so I was surprised when I rubbed it and saw the Indian.
Going back to search this area better in a few minutes, hope there are more hidden gems around here.
1935, not in great shape but beautiful to me.

They're all beautiful in their own way...

Yea I don't know why but buffs are few and far between,I've only found three since 1993.
You'd think I'd have a jar full by now.

nice find

It's always nice to find a Buffalo. Here, the (now rare) silver comes out beautifully -- looks like it just fell out of someone's pocket -- and Indian Heads usually clean up to a nice green patina, but the Bufs typically look like corroded slugs; the soil just eats them up. From my seat, yours isn't too shabby :)

Nice find

Nice o'l find my friend!!

I think I figured it out, people had started collecting coins by the time Buffs came along and they were always liked even when in circulation.
And the rest just wore out to dust, what did they make they out of,pot metal?

Yes they are rare & hard to find here in NC too. Only found one this year & glad to have it.

Congrats! Buffaloes are always a welcome find...

I found this one today. I have been finding a lot of Nickles lately. I think it is because the older Detectors rarely found them.
