I found this with my 1266 awhile back...there was a sword 6 feet away. Does anyone have any idea what this is? I can't really seem to find any information. Thanks, ~Justin

Thats all i got it was from a auction listing with no pic. listed at 3-400 pounds, 5-600$

Look around this site and if you go to the contact page there is a email for archives and research they can probably tell you more.

Very nice find can you tell more ? state or country you found it in. maybe post a pic of that sword.

I think you figured it out...I will contact them for more info...I will definitely get the pics of the sword up...the blade was just iron residue when I got down to it...but the rest of it is brass. Thank you so much!

Where was this found? Perhaps a battle remnant. Most folks didn't leave behind their swords unless they were wounded and hauled off or dead....

Next time you dig a sword artifact, photograph the iron residue as you will be destroying the site but the photo's might give you some information say for exapmple lenght, blade type, etc...

there's a parking lot on it now...I did...I will have to find those pictures...it was actually several years back...the picture on here is from last week...I found it in very close to Canada...a little research goes a long ways
