Buckle from 1861 Confederate Camp

New member
After a lot of research I have located the winter of 61' camp site for the 45th Virginia Infantry. Thursday I recovered a brass buckle which has been identified as a Confederate Louisiana style Bedroll Buckle. TomB

They are associated with bridal tack (Horse) and have been refered to as bed roll buckle covers but I suspect most boys of the South wound up with string (cotton and leather) and anything they could find to snug their blankets. It is a period piece for sure. Nice find, David
