Dug these in the backyard of the house I hunted last time out. The wheats are a 53' and two 44's. Lots of trash, but had a good rain Thurs. nite and it was ez diggin.
 
If there's a wheat there should be a silver coin waiting for you, at least I hope so!! Good finds!! Thanx for the pic, too.
 
I really thought the same thing, but guess I didn't look hard enough. My ratio of wheats to merc dimes isn't very good. The more I hunt this small farming community the more I think that most people here have never had money to lose. HH.
 
You're probably right there, rural folks didn't have much money and if they lost a whole dime, they looked till they found it. But they didn't find them all. Keep at it and maybe one will pop up.
