Bryce's coin setting

I have had my Explorer SE Pro for a while now, and decided to try something other than the original settings. I decided to try Bryce's coin settings as described in Andy Sabisch's book on the explorer/etrac. Not a wild setting, probably good for someone just past the beginning stages of learning the machine.
Yesterday, while hunting in a large open field next to an abandoned grade school, I hear the sound and the screen was right, and, bingo, my first wheat penny, circa 1947. I have, in 20 years of hunting, never popped a wheatie before. I love it!
Big thanks, Bryce and Andy !!!.

Obviously you havent seen what Bryces settings are capable of. We all kind of have our settings we use that may vary from his just because of our area or conditions. No wheaties in 20 years... where you living mexico lol? You are really going to have a ball with the silver coins then. Do a little more research using old maps and you should find all the old coins you are looking for. You may need to change settings occasionally once you find the idea ones for your area or the type hunting you are going to do, but most of us rarely change much more than the sensitivity.

The only thing that hit me besides having to call Bryce up and give him a high 5 on this post :D was that you are not believing what your machine is telling you. My guess is that after you dig 5 inches sometimes you just figure it's not there when on an Explorer it's quite common to be a very loud signal at 8 or 9 inches in good soil. Most of the guys who have gotten it down have probably excavated a few at the 12 inch mark in fact. And these are real measurements so get your ruler out and see what that hole looks like when dug that deep. Now tomorrow we want to see that silver coin that has to be at the spot you just described.

That first wheatie is just the tip of the iceburg.:clapping:

Trust me...you keep messin' with that machine...AND you get to a site where there are some silver or more wheaties hidin'...you will find plenty more provided you can get your coil over them and interperate what the machine is saying to you.

I passed the "beginning stages" of learning the machine about 3 years ago but still use those exact settings to this day. No other combination of settings finds me deep, masked, silver and injuns'at pounded sites like this combo does....and I've tried a ton.

We all have a certain group of settings that produce for us...and it all depends on your hearing preferences and what you have spent all your gazillion hours training your ears to hear...as well as what to listen for to find that deepie hidin' in iron or trash.

I have a specific reason that each setting I use...or don't use...contributes to why or how I'm able to find what I do at the pounded spots I hunt.

First wheatie in 20 yrs. of hunting???---Man, something is TERRIBLY WRONG here.----Where in the world have you been hunting?-------P.S.---I get it, you're "pulling our leg", right????

I am confused...

Anyways...my wife came home with a wheatie in her pocket change the other day. They're still out there...lol.

bryce,s settings are great and they work ive used with great results ive since found my own settings that work on the old colonial sites i like to hunt and have many great finds into the 1700,s and cant wait to get back out when the snow melts a bit new sttings to try but in the parks i,ll be back to bryces settings thats were they realy shine oh yes no wheats in 20 years??????????????? ok

They are in Andy Sabisch's book on the Explorer and E-Trac. I believe that you said that you have one on order, right? If not let me know and I'll send you the data...
From one coonass to another...

I hunt mostly relics, rarely city or coin areas. No parks up my way. Woods and fields is where you are likely to find me.

one way to get bryce's settings is," ASK BRYCE", the othe way is reading andy sabisch's book and copy them from there.
third way is ask those who used them.

I'll have to wait on the silver; I am tied up tight until Sunday or monday, not that that matters much. Thanks for the info.

No, I'm a relic hunter by choice. Coins are rare in the fields and woods where I like to hunt. But in south Louisiana, in a rugged area called coonassistan/cajunistan I am having better luck with coins.

yeah cd, what kenny said. that's the ticket. go ahead and say it again kenny. but make like some of use don't know french though.

CD,let me know when you come down to south La. and I'll have wheaties falling out of your pocket.Should get my book by Andy this week for my new SE Pro_Only had it a month and found over 40 wheaties,it's a great machine.Sorry for not writing in English on my other post."Lassez les bon temps rouler" means ~ "Let the good times roll."~
