Bryce-IL or other helpful forum folks...

I've been trying to step though the archives looking for Bryce's EX settings and can't find anything other than "thanks yous" from folks that have used them.

Can I get a link to them? I'm going to treat 2009 as my year to get back detecting. I think I made it out exactly one time in 2008, and no more than 3-4 times during all of 2007, pretty sad I know, but I aim to fix that.

I figure known good settings would be a good starting point, so and help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys (and gals).

I sent you a pm with the settings I'm using. If you are using an EX2 or XS...make sure you adjust the iron mask setting accordingly...because it is a different scale than the SE.
That is very important too because if I vary my iron mask setting even 1 number more open...deep iron starts to mimic deep silver. With it set at what I run it at though....I can tell iron falsing from a good hit the vast majority of the time. If I do dig up a rusty nail...and I never do that:detecting:...I already knew it was an "iffy" hit before I dug it. Sometimes when I get bored...I'll chase more iffy thpe hits.
With it set even one number more closed...my SE doesn't hit as well when nulling.
In other words...the iron mask setting I'm using on my SE does a great job of telling me iron falsing from good hits....and it also has no problems hitting a deep coin while nulling.

I'm glad that the feedback on this forum has shown that my settings have worked well for many other people....but please keep in mind that they are not for everyone.
There are other proven methods such as all metal/ferrous sounds....but that isn't for everyone either. It is just a matter of personal preference...and what our ears prefer to hear.

The most important thing is to give whatever settings you choose...ample time to work. You will need to give your ears and your brain time to adjust to what you are hearing. Pick some settings and stick with them. Whether you use my settings...or someone elses....don't keep switching back and forth and trying different things too quickly. If you do...you will get confused...frustrated...and downright ready to wrap the machine around a tree.

Good luck...and if you need anything else...feel free to PM me

I can't for the life of me think of ANYONE that considered wrapping their Explorer around a tree ... no sir ... not me :bouncy:

Well .... maybe during my first 1000 hours or so.
The Explorer brain warp has quickly turned into brain farts for me now though.
Wonder if I could get compensated for that kind of injury ?
I hate getting OLD !!!

Good Hunting

Bryce you kept me from breaking mine over my knee on at least 3 different occasions.:stars: Once I got used to your settings though it started coming together.
