Browsing through the consumer digitals last night

at the local Ritz camera store.
I like the Fuji line as well as Nikon Coolpix,Olympus Camedia,Canon and the higher end Sony with the CD built in it. Kodak consumer digitals need alot of work.... maybe thats why Kodak lost a boat load of money 4Q last year.
In the end my suggestions are buy the camera that fits your needs.....
Go to the store and get it in your hands and ask the salesperson to see some examples from that particular camera.
If most of you here have the budget I'd like to see you stay in the 3.3 mega pixel range.

Digital will keep hammering away at the Kodak's of the world because digital technology is advancing at the speed of light.
Here is an example of a shot I took last weekend at a Cincinnati Mighty Ducks game.

This is where it's at....digital!!!

Sorry about the bum link.
BTW the camera is an Olympus E-10 using FL-40 diffused flash and shutter priority.

Kodak has forgotten the people who make a living in photography. They have just about rid themselves of the "true salesman" that used to call on us as professionals and ask us what we needed. Those same "true salesman" have been replaced with people who basically know nothing about photography. Kodak tried to re-establish itself in the high end digital market last year by introducing a digital back for medium format cameras that flopped. They brought it out at $24K.
Then they tried a new 35mm style digital The 760 that weighed in at almost 5 pounds and only had a max asa of 400. I looked at it very intensely. The max asa 400 was just to limiting in my work.
Kodak has also forgotten the pro photographer when it comes to support of copyright issues.

Olympus E-10 w/TCON-14B lens, FL-40 flash and flash diffuser. The diffuser (an opaque box that slips over flash) softens shot without hot spots.
This link goes to my album home page. Enjoy.

I'll stick to the bicycle path....tough peddling in the water.
Yep, I live in Valentine Country; Loveland, OH. Now if we could only get rid of the Ben-Gals.

Thanks for sharing your web site. Those are great pictures especially the Hemmingway photo's. I just got Fototime program but haven't got it up and running yet. I dislike having to move all my pictures in one folder in order to use it. The clown photo really shows what the E-10 can do. Hope to see you post more pictures now that I see you are a Senior Citizen like myself. Thanks again,
Jerry
