Brothers and Sisters, I covet your Prayers......

The Church I have faithfully attended for the last 15 years is now in the control of unfaithful people. Two weeks ago, at a questionable meeting according to the Church by-laws, the board of trustees read a statement demanding the resignation of the current Pastor. They cited four areas of concern which are really petty excuses to accomplish his leaving. Our Pastor announced his resignation to the congregation at service last Sunday, pending settlement of a severance package. I have been a staunch supporter of this man as I truly believe he is led by God and his word. Some parishioners here do not want to be led in truth and the word. They want to do things in the flesh and then ask for God to add his blessing, not take it to Him in prayer first. I go tonight to petition for the Pastor at this settlement meeting. Please pray that I'll be able to conduct myself in a Christian manner and support him with a fair and equitable package. Our annual Church business meeting is tomorrow night and I'm supposed to moderate it, but plan to step down so that I'm not shackled and gagged as to what I can say and do. I also pray for God's guidance in what my future is in this Church. I'm not sure if I can continue worshipping there knowing what I do of the backstabbing and dirty dealings that have transpired to lead up to this. Thank you in advance for your prayers.

We as Christians need to keep in mind that satan is hard at work in the church. He doesn't have to create strife in the bars and clubs, because they are in his control but if he can find a chink in a Christians armour he will infect the church. Just be strong, and follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I pray for your situation and for leadership for the weaker Christians who might fall by the wayside because of the situation.

I sure will pray for the situation.
And remember what the Lord said to some = "get away, I never knew you". Steve in so az

that most churches have come to this and only want those who will speak to their itching ears to think they can sin and not be called into account by God for what they're doing even in the name of Jesus! TBN has become one of them as far as I'm concerned because of their firing Hal Lindsey, a prophet of God, all because he speaks the truth about the Muslim religion not being a peaceful religion! There are many other things that is going on but too many to write in this post!

Hang in there and do not compromise your faith in Jesus and pray for Him to give you His Words to say and His strength and love to stand up tall for Him in front of the church congregation!

Keep on, keepin' on having faith in Jesus, because we already have the victory and win, as the back of the Bible says! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus for your mercy and your grace in ordering the footsteps of your faithful saints!

God Bless!

Dave,

A couple of years ago, I was down the same road. A new Pastor started and, well, I had a bad feeling about him from the get-go. I should have gone by the gift of discernment the good Lord offered but I voted for him anyway. Years passed, and Vicky and I were really searching for a way out. The only "problem" was we didn't feel like the Lord was leading us to leave. I was very involved in the music ministry and felt that I was really needed; I didn't want to make things worse. Unfortunately, it got so bad, we reached a point where we had to make the decision to leave. On the Sunday that was to be our very last (unknown to most people)the Pastor "resigned". How's THAT for a sign? It took some time but we finally got a new Pastor and he's better than anything I could have prayed for. All the troublemakers are gone. The business meetings are the way Christ would want them. No anger. No shouting. No putting "me" first, just Jesus. The church is growing and we're in the middle of building a new, much larger house of worship.

Hang in there and listen to the Lord. You'll know what to do; you'll have a peace about the decision you make.

You and the church and pastor will all be in my prayers! For you to find guidance, direction, wisdom, and discernment!

God is most gracious! I thank all who lifted me and this meeting up in prayer. The meeting was conducted in a spirit that hasn't been present for a while, thank you Lord. A package was resolved that will be presented to the body tonight. Yes there were a few concessions made but both the Pastor and the church were satisfied and in agreement. May God's will be done!

Please continue to lift up this next step tonight! I will have to moderate this meeting and there is much to be done.

Again, I thank you for your good council and prayers.
