Broken Vaquero Locknut:(

I've had the detector for almost a year now, haven't had any problems before. Not too long ago, I noticed the lock nut on the top part of the pole assembly that hooks up to the middle metal pole wasn't gripping as well as it used to anymore. I tighten all the way, but when I use the detector you can feel it wobbling noticeably as I swing it. Its pretty annoying when trying to focus on sweeping an area and pretty uncomfortable on the shoulder. Anybody know if this plastic part is something that I can request from Tesoro and easily attach to the metal shaft myself , or is it something I would have to send in to have them take a look at it?

I put a couple of wraps of teflon tape around the upper section of the rod where it enters the armrest section this seemed to not only take out the wobble, but also eliminated the creaking sound that the rod was making when swinging the detector.

Hope this helps some,
Felix
