Broken Coil Lugs Solution.

Goldstrike

Well-known member
Call me cheap but I just couldn't throw away and replace a coil that has found me so much gold and silver over the past few years just because the lugs broke off. So....I repaired my old coil friend with a 3/4" wide plastic electrical box (cut to fit)and some new nylon washers and screws from the hardware section in Home Depot.. I used the 2 part epoxy 'stick' you mix with your hands (wear gloves as it can irritate skin) to secure it to the coil and double secured it with nylon nut's and bolts to the front and rear....(see pics).
It works just as it did before and I'm totally confident it will not come apart. I'm also confident it will continue to sniff out much more gold and silver for it's owner!!!:clapping:

I have to do the same thing to a CTX coil the same size. Was the electrical box from Home Depot too? I have a stick of mix together epoxy glue from their PVC pipe section - is that what you used? it's beige in color. I don't want to chance drilling holes in the coil for the nylon screws I don't know what's inside.
