After digging countless mercs over the last couple of months I finally pulled up a Barber.... And this one was probably the most shallow silver, 2 1/2" at best. It did have some iron on it and I had to get right over it to get a solid signal. I love being able to pinpoint and see that 2.5 frequency come up. People that dont have a v3 series machine just dont understand how useful this is.
She was a hundred yards behind an old farmhouse. She sure is an ugly coin,With scratches all over and super dark toning, the kid must have held on to her for a while. I didnt want to scratch it so carried it in my mouth swishing the dirt off for a while.... I guess I am sick like that. I might have thrown it in my finds pocket if I knew what it looked like.
My hunting buddy was there a week before and scored some hotel key tags from a hundred years ago.... He busted one up bad and chunked the other. "Dig bigger holes Vince"..
The local school was located around a quarter mile south and I figured that the children living there would have ran through the field in a straight line in the summer and would have had to go around the bog in the winter. 4 silver coins out of the field so far, some buffaloes and a bunch of wheats.
My wife scored the nicest find today, a 1875 engraved sterling silver baby spoon, with the DFX.
