Broke the 70 in today.

I went back to my favourite site today to play with the 70 and had some good fun. I pulled out over $20 only 6 days ago with the GTI, but due to the fact that the local farmers market restocked it this mornng, made it fair game again.
It provided some opportunity to play around with the settings a get a better feel for the machine. I liked the fact that the pinpoint mode updates. I'd forgotten about that and it helped me to ID some iron and canslaw before digging. I pulled up the canslaw anyway, just to confirm. i ended the hunt with $14.75 in the pouch. Not bad considering I'm normally only picking up 5 or $6 each hunt here lately.
The finds arn't anything to write home about, but I thought that I'd post a picture of the park I hunted in today. Over the last 3 years, I've pulled out around $700 out of this park.

Wow that is a lot of money for one park, I guess maybe the people there are clumsier than they are here. It looks like you found a great spot.

I'm pretty lucky to have such a productive park so close to home. With the 5x10 coil in the purchase, the 70 cost around $1350 over here. That might sound a bit high you in the US, but it's quite cheap for over here. I must commend Minelab on that front. 18 months ago, I commented that their prices were a bit higher than they should have been, but since then, compared to the States, on most of their detectors, are they same or cheaper than in the States.:clapping: ie The X-Terra 30 is now $495 AUD. It was $600AUD when I bought mine. The Explorer range of detectors is almost the same dollar figures as you have in the States, but the Aussie dollar is at 70cents US at the moment.
I checked out another similar park this morning somewhere not to far away, which should prove to be about half as productive as this park . I'm looking forward to hunting it soon. They are not as good as what I find in Sydney. Man I could live there again real easy. My last 8 day hunt down there netted just over $350!(I used another brand of detector on that hunt, but did use the X-Terra 30 for part of it.) And people spend $6000 on gold detectors!
