Broke stock coil ear- Is it covered by warranty?

Coil ear broke off yesterday. I understand this is a common problem, but mine made it a year. I will call MineLab tomorrow. Do they replace this under warrannty usually?

I'm pretty sure if you have any warranty left, they will fix it one time. they will send you a new coil if it's covered. When and if you get thr nrw one, I put a round white nylon washer on both sides of the coil ears to take up the slak when I tighten the coil down. I did this 5 years ago with my Xtera 505, and never had a problem.

Thx. I saw special washers and protectors online also

Yes if it’s within the 3 year warranty my Dad just had his replacement sent back to him,
Matk

Minelab emailed me an RMA # today and I'll return it to Alum Bank, PA for repair/replacement

Why are the latest coils so flimsy. I have an old Detector pro Wader with the small coil which I use in rocky areas. The coil is solid resin and has been knocked on rocks for hours most days that I am out for the past 10 years and has not broken and still works.
