The area I found my record breaking quarter spill is well manicured, and routinely used for wine tastings, craft fairs, and other high volume alcohol "festivals." It was the first time I've hunted this property and I figured that one of the vendors must have let a half roll of quarters fall off their bench/table. The area is covered by mature trees and the grass is really sparse, the use of the lawn and mature shade has taken its toll on it.
I secured permission to hunt this early in the summer with the stipulation to wait until it rained, so as not to damage the grounds.
The quarters were found under a small maple tree that had been planted to replace one of the mature trees that had died.
I found 29 quarters in about 2 hours

but no jewelry

BUT I only covered a very small portion, mostly in the dark.......I'z be going back..... very, very soon
I also found a 15-20 penny spill..........but who cares about zinc
An interesting note was that I never had the chance to ground balance the AT Pro............I could never find any ground that was metal free. Low iron readings sounded like popcorn, almost EMI like......... I figured

it must be where coal ashes were spread over the past 150 years.
