Broke my old record of nine quarters in one hole:cheers: with the AT Pro

Blackie and I hunted twice today. We got $4.59 this morning before lunch, one quarter was a 1943 silver:inlove:........ate supper and went out for a short 2 hour hunt & harvested $8.84 for a daily total of $13.43.
We found twenty (20) quarters in one spill :surprised: about the size of your hand. under a small maple tree. The coins were about 11/2 to 2 inches deep. My previous record was 9 quarters in one hole.

Nice little patch of quarters. Got 12 in a change purse at the beach once also had a $20 dollar bill in it. My best money find in one hole with a detector.

I think I found around 8 or 9 in a few hours once and that was a big stimulus. Always makes me wonder how people lose or just give up big coins. Tell Blackie to watch out for A strong Lot Lizard that will consume him:rofl:

sounds like a parking meter spill.

The area I found my record breaking quarter spill is well manicured, and routinely used for wine tastings, craft fairs, and other high volume alcohol "festivals." It was the first time I've hunted this property and I figured that one of the vendors must have let a half roll of quarters fall off their bench/table. The area is covered by mature trees and the grass is really sparse, the use of the lawn and mature shade has taken its toll on it.

I secured permission to hunt this early in the summer with the stipulation to wait until it rained, so as not to damage the grounds.
The quarters were found under a small maple tree that had been planted to replace one of the mature trees that had died.
I found 29 quarters in about 2 hours:thumbup: but no jewelry:thumbdown: BUT I only covered a very small portion, mostly in the dark.......I'z be going back..... very, very soon

I also found a 15-20 penny spill..........but who cares about zinc :heh:

An interesting note was that I never had the chance to ground balance the AT Pro............I could never find any ground that was metal free. Low iron readings sounded like popcorn, almost EMI like......... I figured  it must be where coal ashes were spread over the past 150 years.
