.....Broke my arm rest..........

When I had a Cibola the arm rest ended up broken one day. I have no idea how it happened and my two boys aren't talking. When I sold The Cibola I took the arm rest off my Euro Sabre and exchanged them. The black went fine with the Cibola.

I made an ugly temporary fix with the broken arm rest. I glued it together and mounted it in my Euro.

I found a place on the Internet to purchase an arm rest. I couldn't specify the color on the web page. When I checked out, instead of charging me shipping, they charged me for two arm rests. No shipping charges? I didn't now what to expect.

Today two brown arm rests with screws showed up in my mail box. There was no foam pad for the arm rest. I decided to use the soft side of some Velcro strip I have with a sticky back.

It doesn't match very well. But it looks better than it did. May be I'll paint the other one black. That won't be too much trouble. What do you think?

Best Wishes,

Looks fine to me!

Don't paint it. Paint will scratch and look shabby.

I broke the one on my Eldo last year falling on the ice. Got a replacement from Tesoro that came with the pads. If I recall it was around $7.00 or $8.00.

I'll go through Tesoro next time. Just didn't think about it.

I paid $32 for two arm rest and they were the rong color.

It isn't a big deal. It is done and I'm not one to cry over spilt milk. I live for today. Today I don't have to put up with that broken arm rest.:wiggle:

Cheers,

It looks good TD. I just sold a Cibola and moved up to a Vaquero.
How does the Eurosabre compare to the Cibola?. TIA Merf

Hi Merf,

The Cibola was my first Tesoro. I really liked it and it did well here in most situations because we have fairly mild soil conditions.

The main two reasons I sold it was because the coils would not interchange with the other two MDs I have and the Cibola brought a good resale price.

I liked the low tone and the push button pin pointing of the Cibola and it has better depth in mild soil than the Euro.

The Euro has a unique two tone audio iron ID. The low tone is for targets very low on the range of discrimination(iron/steel). The high tone is for targets on the higher end, copper, silver, Etc. What makes it unique is the way that the two tones interact with each other when targets in the mid range of discrimination. These targets include iron thats big or not round, aluminum, lead, bobby pins, nail, bolts, and the list is enormous. The depth of targets effects the way these two tones respond also.

Learning these responses comes natural for me because I've become a beep-n-digger in a lot of places. I'm learning that I can not only tell iron targets but I can lock on to most pesky items in the ground at a given site and work around them. Even at the trashiest of sites I can pick and choose without discrimination. There is still thumbing of the knobs that goes on but it sure makes a difference.

The wider range of acceptance of the Euro makes things that hide from the Cibola visible to the Euro. Most of these items are of no value but knowing what they are, and knowing they are there, gives me an edge, especially when dealing with masking.

The Ground Balance gives versatility to the Euro. I am learning the nuances of GBing. It has benefits in areas that have frustrated me in the past and I didn't know why.

I have been very impressed with the Cibola, the SS uMax, the Euro Sabre and now the Eldorado.

The only important advantage that the Cibola has over the Euro Sabre, in my opinion, is depth.

That's how I compare the C and the Euro,

Thanks for the reply Tabdog. The Euro sounds like a fine machine.
The Cibola was my first Tesoro also and found a lot of good targets.
I do enjoy the Vaquero a little more due to the adjustable Ground balance.
All the best---Merf
