Broke into the 1700's again - BARELY!

Sunday I went back to a patch of woods where a couple week s ago I had found a few silver coins on the surface just under the leaves (Washington and a couple Rosies) and a toasted IH.
I dug what I thought was a two cent piece then another toasted IH. Also found another bell, an ox knob and a suspender clip. I had found two similar bells and a KG II about 100 yards away last month.
When I started to clean the "two cent piece" I realized what it really was - a British FARTHING!! 1799 (same size as a US two center). It's a one-year type. On this type the date is below the king's bust instead of on the reverse below the Britannia figure. Condition isn't great but I'll take it! The date is probably the clearest thing which is opposite of the norm.
Thanks for sharing. Bruce

Nice finds!

What else can you say but, :super: :clapping: :super:
I must say getting into the 1700s is a fun thing for sure.

I am a betting man this will not be your last 1700s post for this year.

Wow...I would love to find something like that. NICE job.
