British Fort Findings

Hey All,

New to the forum here!

I wanted to post some pictures of some items I found today at an old (1815) site of a British fort. There are a couple items posted that I am not sure what they are. Hoping someone on here can help me out in identifying them. One of the items looks like part of a spoon, and the other item looks like an inkwell. The item that looks like an inkwell has the initials "WJ" etched by hand on the bottom. The buttons I am not sure of origin or material. I also had found over 100 old square hand forged nails and various metal pieces. Any help in identifying and what the value of the two items and with the other buttons would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mac

Yeah, looks like an old inkwell. Metal ones were pretty common.

It would have had a cover or lid attached at some point.

Nice save,
mike

Thanks Guys for the input and feedback. This is my thought as well. I was even thinking that this could have been made at the fort. This was found by an old chimney along with one of the buttons shown. Thanks!

Looks like the cover in the picture with the rings?
