Dug this coin yesterday - has just a 1 on it. I presume a penny ? Any info out there ? A little snaller than a US dime. Thanks, steve in so az

Well, technically it is not a coin of Britain. The Cayman Islands is a self-governing member of the British Commonwealth. Therefore, it has its own national coins but still shows the current Queen of England (Elizabeth II) on them. For that same reason, Canada also still has the image (and name) of Elizabeth II on some of its coins.

Yes, your coin is a 1-cent piece. All ya gotta do is type the phrase "Cayman Islands coins" into your browser's Web-Search function (just be sure to put quote-marks around the phrase). : )
