Best I’ve found so far are toy gun parts!!! That butt plate is gorgeous and the little lady on the coin is pretty purdy too!!!!! Nice dive!

I think the water is agreeing with you. Some really good finds. That butt plate looks in such good condition. Are you using a detector or just searching the bottom?

man that is an old time detector that still seems to work and requires no battery and has a life time warranty. I think a good new name for you is "Calabash Catfish".

Nice Saves all Calabash, but the Brown Bess buttplate is over the top. It must have been dropped as the Britishers had crossed the Mississippi on their way to the Gulf of Mexico. Great History you found there. Congrat's

Those are very cool finds , interestingly enough my brother and I found some parts of the same type of musket in March here in MA. We both found parts of the ramrod as well as pieces of the hammer, trigger guard and butt plate. The area we searched was in the flood plain of a creek that emptied into a swamp, very mucky , non of the wood survived. Unless it is really deep in mud. Im sure you were extremely excited when your research told you what type of musket . Its funny because at first we thought it was from a piece of furniture. We will have to gather our parts and post some pics. I think that those type of muskets date back to the 1740's. Thats what I love about this hobby (all the history).. HH
