Like the auto makers have, Diablo umax-- Different Face Plate maybe newer elect as long as it doesn't change how it was, auto ground Balance i would be in line to buy the first one out

Just a thought

Call it a Special EDT. I think it would sell like crazy. You cant even find a used one every now and then.

Since Gold is so High bring back some Tesoro life. Lower price than the Lobo Trac --Like Fisher Gold Bug Pro then they have the Gold Bug 11 $599 & $749

Goldman55......I wish they'd bring back "older models" of lots of things

Smitty

bring back the 1964 GTO

Just picked up a Diablo umax, never had one, it looks like the separate hot rock circuit and manual ground balance is a good set up for high mineral area gold bugging.

Cool. What did you pay? Would love to have a Diablo uMax. 17.8 Khz with manual GB. Pinpoint/no-motion all metal. Awesome machine. Might install a 10 turn GB and possibly a volume control. Those things are pretty loud without phones aren't they? Diablo micromax is a good one!

For what its worth....older big box Tesoro's had more audio variances than the new ones out, why I don't know...

While talking to the powers to be mentioned the toltec 100 ( best tesoro ID unit ever) and coming out with a lightweight version and was blown off politely...one guesses we will never see an old version as while concentrating on depth with Tejon's etc they lost something in the process..And don't mention Toltec 11 as its a poor remake at best.....

Can't ask to much more for depth on a vlf that's very good.
I'll feel cheated if the Diablo beats my GPX 5000 on total gwt. gold finds

Heck, we are old models ourselves. I think we all feel more comfortable with what we are used too. every new detector that comes out, there's the same dang magazine article, "they sent me one to try out, so I went to a hunted out park, and looky what I found!". You never hunt it out unless its sifted completely! A fresh battery, wetter soil, i have even heard guys say the phase of the moon!. Seriously, we know how to work the old stuff, and do quite well with it. i cant even work this forum to do a picture or private posts! gotta learn, eventually. bring back windows 95 for me! I would not trade my Eldorado big box for any new model. some of us, me, are technologically challenged, and like my bud's Whites V3, first unit, new to the hobby, its in the closet. Overwhelmed by the tech, and bought into the hype. wad of money wasted. don't fix it if it ain't broke, Tesoros ain't broke! make some New Old ones, like the Silver Sabre turtle big box, the Inca, Diablo. they would SELL!

This has me wondering. Did any of the old Tesoros have an analog meter? Was it any good? Maybe find a way to incorporate an analog meter into a machine and release it as the Classic.

Quote: Did any of the older Tesoros have an analoge meter?........Yes, the Toltec 100 came out in 1987, and the Toltec 80 came out in 1988 and the Toltec ll came out in 1994.

Quote: Was it any good?..........Well hell yea they were good, I have a Toltec ll I bought new in 1994 and still have it. Then last year I bought it's older brother the Toltec 100.
