Bridle Rosette?

Tioga

New member
Found this in the back of an 1800's house and not sure what it is. Thinking it may be a bridle rosette, but hope to get a definite answer here.

It is made of brass or bronze and the green stuff is what's left of an enamel inlay. The silver stuff on the back is solder; apparently an attempt to reattach that didn't work so well.

If anyone has seen anything like this and knows how old it may be, I'd appreciate knowing.

Thanks!
