Hey guys and gals, it's been awhile since I've updated on how things are going. I'm up early this morning, 3:30am, because Brian's trach clogged and we had to change it and we couldn't go back to sleep. Brian is doing great, he sleeps better than ever (no snoring) and is eating like he just discovered food!! It is awesome!!
Got out yesterday in my backyard for a little md'ing. The city replaced some sewer line running across our backyard and brought in some topsoil to re-seed. They said it came from the river so I was hoping for some old goodies but only found a piece of iron pipe and a wire. It sure felt good to swing a little though.
There is a lady here in town who does bedroom makeovers for kids with terminal illness' and handicaps and one of my coworkers applied for one for Brian. He was accepted last fall and they will be here today to do it. Brian is very excited. We have to leave about 8:30 this morning and can't return until 5pm for the unveiling of the room. They will give us tickets for things to do in Pigeon Forge, a tourist trap in the Smokies, and buy our lunch. They base the makeover on a favotite theme of the child's choice and Brian chose a weather related theme. Brian chose weather because he wants to be a meteorologist and tornado chaser.
A local TV station will film it and it will air one afternoon in about 4 weeks. She also said that Brian will get to go to the station and watch a live broadcast and the weatherman will come to our house for the filming. It should be fun.
The website is: www.specialspaces.org
The station airs some broadcasts on their website so I'll let you know when it is on and will provide a link.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of many, many people in our community. The blessings continue to flow in. Brian's school and a local church are doing pancake breakfast fund-raisers to help defray medical costs. A local rock band is having a special concert for Brian this spring too!
Sorry this is so long.
Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. I've been trying to pray for all the requests and read the updates daily but usually at work between customers so I can't always reply to the posts. But I am lurking and praying daily.
