Brass Turtle Information

A

Anonymous

Guest
This turtle appears to be cast or carved brass with crude head details.
It weights about 1 pound and is 2 3/4" inches long and 1 1/8" high by 2" wide. There are no markings
of any kind. It was found in a old lumbering town dating around
1850-1865. Is it a paperweight? A toy?
Thanks in advance for any information.

If you were in Michigan, USA I would suggest that maybe someone with too much time on their hands took a piece of native copper and carved it out.
Do you have native copper in AU? (If that is where you are.)

thought you were at their facility which is in Australia (I think).
I use one of their models.
