Hello Everyone - I'm brand new to metal detecting! Took my new detector out to the local park in Central NJ for a few hours; my first go of it. Found some junk (old cans, flip tabs etc - - - dug everything as I learn); also found a few modern pennies. Then I found these two brass tokens (?) around 6 inches deep.
Anyone have an idea what they might be?
They are thin (dime thickness); and smaller than a quarter (quarter in picture for reference). Surrounding the "A" (which is visible in the photo) are small diamonds in a circular pattern. Both coins are the same in front; one has a smooth back, the other has the "A" and diamonds raised in the back.
I think I'm going to enjoy detecting as I learn more.
Thanks
