The object with an "M" on it looks like it's an old Maybelline lipstick cartridge or possibly an old mascara top without the brush since it's threaded. Could the brass shield be a bottom front of a tap shoe? Just a guess. I love guessing what things are. Cool finds and keep us posted. HH, Nancy

...if you look at the penny pictured beside it for reference. However, it probably is a leather attachment for a horse harness or some type of strap (picture it on the tip of your belt, the part you feed through the buckle). Unfortunately, I don't think its period. Nice find though.
