Brass Pointy Thing

Lee - MI - MI

New member
While hunting the site of a late 1800s logging village in northern Michigan my partner found a brass thing. It was about 3" long, about 1/8" square in the center but both ends were to a well defined point. It was only square for about a half inch portion in the center of the item. By the time you got to the end it was rounded - the squared portion in the center did not go the full length of the rod.

He took it with him so I cannot offer a picture of it. The brass was still shiny and well polished.

I have my ideas but don't want to inhibit anyone's imagination. Come on people, any idea what it may be?
