My buddy and I hit had a chance to get out today and detect an old homestead that dates back to 1705. We have been very blessed to pull some remarkable coins and buttons from this site. Although no 1700/1800 era large cents surfaced today, we did end up digging some civil war bullets, buttons and silver. My finds for the day are:

1 1916 Merc (no D mint mark, I spent 15 minutes examining the back to see the highly sought after "D" mind mark) maybe next time. I now have two 1916 dimes in my collection.
1 1897 IH cent
2 flat buttons, one with silver wash
1 1907 V nickels (I actually dug 2 Jefferson's as well. I've never dug 3 nickels in a whole year-yet alone one day. But my F-75 LTD sniffs out the nickels.
1 Williams Cleaner Type 2 drop (.58 cal)
1 58 Cal drop
1 Ring Tail drop (my first)
part of the rifle butt
