I found this at an old home site. I have an online button guide that states it was made in 1837. I forget who posted this link here in this forum but I want to thank them for the site.
if this date in approx. Then this is significant for me as the home is much older then previously thought. Does anyone have an online price guide for buttons? I am interested in knowing what it is worth... if anything. Thanks in advance for your help - Jim

Wow. That came out of the ground in great shape. Usually they lose the gold and leave nothing but the brass. It must have been protected from moisture somehow. Was it found under a building?

Hi 407floyd,

Yes, My belief is that the button was in the old house that sat on the lot and came out when they demolished it (about 20 years ago). The button was down about 2" in the front yard. - Jim
