Boy Scout swastika?

The swastika was used as a symbol for good luck prior to WWII. There used to be a club called the "Don't Worry Club", and their emblem was nearly identical to the one on your token.

Nice find!

It is also a Buddhist symbol. the Nazi's turned it on an angle (guess they couldn't come up with anything original).

I found a token a couple years ago, for a a brand of shoes for Boy scouts which featured the same horse and rider as yours. it was dated July 1910. I thought I really had something until I found out they were all dated July 1910.

I think I would go with TN Girl on this one.

According to http://www.sageventure.com/coins/misc.html:

Like many other companies, the Excelsior Shoe Company took advantage of the new Boy Scout program by advertizing that they sold the "The Original 'Boy Scout' Shoe for Boys." Included with shoes that were bought from Excelsior was a "Good-Luck Charm Free with each pair of Boy Scout shoes."

The link has pictures of different tokens. I think yours may be shown there. Check it out! :)

That is the name on mine, TN Girl, but I couldn't think of it then.

Mine is the type 1.1 or the type 1.2, as I am not able to see the difference.

Thanks for your information. Take care, Dave

The symbol originates in the mountains of Tibet and occurs on ancient sites. It is a variation of symetrical yin/yang and was a good luc symbol as has been said by others. Remember our associaton of it with the Nazi regime is really recent.
IT's a nice find and should clean up nice with bakeing soda and vinegar bath, acid first followed by the second. Rinse between.... Small toothbrush helps as well...

Go lite on the acid..
