the deck is going well. I pick up the decking tomorrow and then it will start looking like something. It is a butch doing it alone for sure but I have learned a lot and there is a lot of satisfaction too. Someone that knew what they were doing would have had it done by now but I had to think through every step. Lots I had to figure out but I am happy with how it is coming.

The decking should be done in a couple days and I then have to put up the railing. I am putting up the same kind of railing as the old on as seen in this picture. Really a seat but we like to put plants on it.

The video is one I made a couple days ago so Mary could see it. She is down state as usual :D I have finished all the underlayment now and it is time for the decking.

frame and then made it bigger. You can not see the video and that shows the size it will be. How did things go today?

Nicely framed too  There has to be a fair amount of deck boards coming for that floor. But there's no doubt it will be worth the effort. That is going to look great !

16 ft deckboards tomorrow but that will do the railing too. It is fun but I have to think about every move I make as it not my trade :D

they have been coming after dark lately. I think they are about to drop their fawns and a bit shy. My cat was acting a bit goofy a little while ago and I turned on the flood light and there was a big old coon out there.

George nailed it, a new dance floor for the Deer:rofl:
I know all about having to think through every step of the way but i would have redone it twice by now.

Went over to see the doc... this was for the back ....The news is/was....... I don't know..... depressing I guess.

In the end, after all is said and done, there is nothing much I can do, other than live with the pain and disability. When they took the 3 discs out those many years back, they just left it to run, bone on bone.... no replacements of the discs. So, what we have now is a degenerative back.

Yesterdays doc said, in so many words, that I pretty much have only one operation left in me... so lets not waste it. Live with it and when it gets really bad, then we will do an operation.

Next week, another doc to see why I have been losing so much weight.

And that is all i am going to say about that. I can still dive and detect, play in the shop and still enjoy life. Take a few pain killers and it is not too bad.

Going to try for an eastern trip this year.... see the daughter in Ottawa, etc. If that happens, we will be down to see you.

Take care

Fair winds

the cat woke me up at 6am and I got up and had my coffee and headed for Home Depot and got my decking. I had to rent their truck as my pickumup can not handle 81 16 ft long boards. I got them home and took the truck back and came home and started screwing down the decking. I have it half done and went through 5 lbs of screws. Had to go buy some more but the decking should be finished tomorrow. Then the railing.
