This week I bought a Minelab Excalibur 1000 for a very good price and asked the dealer about the F75, turns out he had a first generation model (without the $50 upgrade Seal and shaft) and was closing out on Fishers.... well at his price I couldn't say no.....my wife is gonna dance all over my head when she finds out!! I have heard great things about the F75 depth if you can overcome the "interference chatter" so I'm pretty excited. Ill be checking out this board for user tips.

Cool! read the manual as often as you can.
Pay close attention to the notch indicators so you do not accept iron when you do not want it. Read the manual.
Read back the last month's posts here for most of the latest good info for all users. read as far back as you can over time and make notes of your own. read the manual.

Page 4 is the quick start info for out -of-the-box operation. Learn how to do a factory rest as described in the manual.

after your first month of ownership,.... read the manual.

congrats on your good purchase and a great machine. Hope your wife likes the rings!

Im pretty lucky with the club I'm in here in SC. WE have 6 or 7 members who have been using the F75 for awhile so Im hoping to get some field time with them. I'll definately....READ THE MANUAL!! My current job involves reading and studying lots of manuals so hopefully Ill comprehend quickly. I think Ill make a quick study card and laminate it to carry it in the field. Cheers, Jamison
