I cannot find anything on the TR 500, but I believe it is an older machine...I will keep looking

OK...I found some more info...Originally retailed for about $65.00 in the early 1970s...Not worth a lot today, and not a very good detector...Non-Discriminating TR type that picks up everything...kinda like hunting in all metals mode with no other options...great if your relic hunting I guess...not very deep seeking...only about 6" on coins, and about a foot on larger objects...VERY sensitive to interference...

If your TR-500 works you got a bargain. I still use the old 100 khz TR's for hunting in nail laden sites, and have made some nice finds that vlf detectors couldn't see because of the nails. The 100 khz transmit frequency doesn't saturate nails and similar size iron enough to be detected, but a coin almost completely covered with nails can be detected easily. Larger iron than about 16 or 20 penny size rusty nails will be detected, but most iron half dollar size or larger gives a wider signal than coin size targets and once the audio response is learned it's surprising how little iron will be dug.

intresting cool i have found 50 cents above ground in my yard the lady said i got from said she found lot silver with it i havnt never her finds i will keep it and use it more thanks agian BH from goldfinderman
