Bounty Hunter Timeranger Sentron Co-Relator

New to any forum so I hope this is the correct place to ask questions.

I have a Bounty Hunter Time Ranger that has a broken antenna on the Sentron Co-Relator (had to google for a while to figure out what this odd thing was on top of the detector). Is this repairable? I was wondering if my detector was usable or if it was only good for parts? The red LED light does not light up either.

Any help would be appreciated.

SENTRON CO-RELATOR ANTENNA

This unique feature of the Time Ranger monitors outside interference levels, allowing the detector circuit to make automatic adjustments. It also performs an important function related to the Smart Trac and Ground Monitoring Systems. When in operation, the antenna should be extended. When stored, or not in use, the antenna should be retracted. The Red LED Light at the rear of the Sentron will alert you whenever the Ground Monitor goes negative.

I'd call First Texas Products and find out.

Here is a site with valuable information on early and later Time Rangers.
Time Ranger vintage to today

It hasn't been manufactured in something like 15 years or more. The Time Ranger platform was somewhat redesigned when the "antenna" was scrapped. Then several years later in 2003, I did a complete stem-to-stern redesign.

I've asked people around here who were familiar with the "Sentron" gizmo and they all tell me it never did anything useful, other than as a quirky hood ornament. (I'm not saying that it was bogus like an LRL, just that the associated circuit didn't work worth a darn and wasn't ever going to because the whole idea was flawed.)

If the unit works use it..Don't worry about the accessory ..it was for show ..............:)
