bounty hunter platinum

Greetings,

I purchased my BH Platinum last spring and after a short time getting use to it, it is the best detector that i have owned so far.

For the money, the BH Platinum is a great machine & a joy to use!

Made it out today for my 1st hunt of 2012.

Regards, Larry... ldweber51@hotmail.com

thanks for the reply I'm stuck between the platinum and delta 4000 leaning more towards the platinum

Hello,

I also checked out the delta 4000, but ruled it out.

So many of the new machines do not have manual ground balancing. There are situations that requiring overriding the auto balancing. It's a must for me!

I also like having a 1\4 jack. Quality headphones mostly come with 1\4 plug. I do not like using any plug extender because it puts added pressure on the circuit board & that can cause board failure.

The Platinum also has the new handle shape so your arm extends straight to the MD unit. It feels more natural & i can hunt longer without shoulder \arm discomfort.

I believe you can find the Platinum for $299 + goodies online now & that, in my opinion, is a much better choice.

Larry...

Larry is right you are not going to find a better deal any where. The BH Platinum is on sale at detectorelectronics.com for $299.99 + goodies. Retails for $550.00 with no goodies from cabelas.

Bought mine last year and it's a sweet machine. It's target ID is dead accurate and it has a short learning curve. It also has decent depth for the price, I've hit on dimes and copper pennies at 8" with ease. The biggest thing you should know is make sure you follow the manual on how to ground balance. If you don't ground balance it correctly it will act all wigged out.
Bounty Hunter has really stepped up their game with this machine.

The manual ground balance is a feature you don't want to be without in my opinion. Your soil may not require it, but one day...somewhere...you'll probably need ground balance capability. Murphy's Law and such.....

The Platinum is 98% of a Teknetics Gamma 6000. Same hardware, but lacking manual ground balance & a few other minor changes. It also has the form factor of the higher end Teknetic units. Quite a deal at $300.

Cheers,
kev

Had problems with mine, stayed on but sometimes stopped detecting, detector electronics were very accommodating with the return, thumbs up to them

Mine does that. If I haven't heard anything in a few swings. I drop m,y digger to check it. Other than that, I love it.

Mine does that to. i will drop the digger to see if it's still detecting. i have noticed that the detector head it's self is a little wobbley/has movement, you can twist it a little or move it back and forth. is this normal. has any one else noticed this.

I do the same thing with my Time Ranger.

Hi All, Been thinking about getting a Platinum detector for back up. Dose anyone know if it will detect a 7" dime? I like something that will go about that deep anyway. I have one that will do 10" or 11" on a dime, but sometimes i just like to take it easy. Any info would be nice. Thanks Flintstone

It will hit on a dime at 7" easy. It's crazy deep in all metal mode.
