Bounty Hunter Platinum

Well-known member
Hi All, Has anyone used the B H Platinum? How dose it do? I can,t find much on this detector. It looks like some of the Omega line. Any help please, Thanks Dean

The BH Platinum is the top of the Bounty Hunter lineup, and the first product on what was then a brand new platform, from which some Teknetics models were later developed. Air hots on the order of 10-11 inches (no electrical interference), quick response, excellent target separation, discrimination-ID software algorithms adapted from the T2 & F75.

Hello Dean,

The Platinum is my 3rd BH machine & the best one yet. I have no problem find clad & silver items. I haven't done much relic (iron) hunting with this model. It will eat up 9V batteries in a hurry. I've found the best battery which is a panasonic 6LR61-9V for digital equiptment for $1.25 each and get them fast from http://www.batterywarehousedirect.com/2.html

The difference from the Teknetics Gamma 6000 is the ground balancing & has a actual ground balancing indicatior on the display. There may be some difference in the chipset too.

Dean, you can't go wrong with the Platinum. It is light, very easy to use, and like Dave J. suggested, it goes deep. It is much more stable than my Time Ranger and much easier to read the large display screen.

As far as batteries, I found that using good quality rechargeables is the way to go. I bought PowerEx true 9V with a matching PowerEx - 4 battery charger and never regretted it for a moment.

I am very happy with my Platinum.

Good luck!
