Purchased two Lone stares. one for me and one for the girlfriend, at Bass Pro shop in AZ. Paid about $200.00 for each.
You did well at $100.00.

My first detector was a Lone Star that I got for Fathers day. It went for about $179.00. I used it a few times and did a little research and traded it for a Quick Draw 11 . The Quick Draw has a depth read out which is real handy and I paid a few more dollars for it. Managed to find quite a bit with it. You have to really put some time into it to really know how to get the most use out of it by trial and error. I know mine inside and out, but it did take some time , pretty good machine for the beginner.
I found out that I could of saved about $50.00 by going to Walmart.com and purchase one on line with no shipping charge.Hope this helps!
Happy Hunting
Stan.
