I just purchased a Bounty Hunter JR for my nephew, does anybody have any experience with one? It looks great in the picture, I can't believe that it can discriminate trash.It was $48 the accessories will cost me more.
 
I got one for $15 when I bought my Elite 2200. Amazingly, it does indeed discriminate and can find coins within about 4" of the surface, which is where I find over 90% of what I dig. The handle is short which precludes its comfortable use by normal adults, but it is a simple-to-use and credible machine.
I'm sure he will be thrilled.
