Bounty Hunter I

Nuggetts

New member
I have a Bounty Hunter I . Anybody know anything about it. I know it dates back to the 70's. It has a metal/ mineral discriminator knob and an on-off / volume knob. I don't think it goes very deep. Just interested if it is worth detecting with. It is fully operational. Bummer is it takes 10 AA batteries.

Does your machine have a name or model number? That would really help to know what you've got.

No serial numbers. It just says Bounty Hunter I (PACIFC NORTHWEST INSTRUMENTS, KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON)

I cannot find a picture of one anywhere on the net...I know they also made a Bounty Hunter II model...neither was very good....no depth (6 inches max), hard to tune, consumed batteries like candy...better to sell it to a collector and move up to a modern detector...

Its a Bounty Hunter-Prospector DX-it has features such as "disc" "notch" "auto notch" "ground trac" one dial on the left is on/off sensitivity the knob on the right is labeled "disc/notch. What do these terms mean and can anyone help. Thanks

Sincerely Brad

Hmmmm....Sold by Cabellas...it looks a LOT like the Sharp Shooter II...look at the manual for the Sharp Shooter II here:

Sorry Brad but that's not it. It has a metal/ mineral knob on left and on/off /volume knob on right. I'd show you a pic but like my detector , my computer is too old to perform this function. The box for the detector is mounted to a straight pole with the handle on the box.
