I am new to this forum. After my wife almost died of a heart attack at age 52 on her birthday we needed to find away to get out side more. We have taken up the hobby of metal detecting. We have only been out a couple of times as the weather is still cold an ground still frozen.

Today we found several pennys and a 50 cent half dollar at a local park in only 1 hour of detecting.. Was going to post a few pics but cant figure it out.

I have practiced with it for a couple weeks now. Not many beaches or parks up in my neck of the woods. Live in upper northeast Wisconsin. Did a lot of reading on the what to do an what not to do. Keep our hobby clean an cover up holes.

I will be going to old farm houses of peeps I no an look around their. Plus lots of farm fields to walk in too. Peeps up here are nice an I think a few door knocks will get us into a few better places

I'm already thinking of getting a different detector as my wife likes this one an that means I can get a better one. Just so many to choose from I have no clue yet what to get. Lots of streams an creeks to walk but that might be a bit much for wife. Just lookin to keep her active an interest in it

Its very easy to make a big upgrade at Finds classifieds, and not pay a lot more, it just depends on you..
And you can ask about units at a variety of forums--then there is youtube to see people testing out detectors.
